What Would You Like to Read About?
Kent Library encourages student engagement in our collection development by asking the student body at Southeast Missouri State University “What would you like to read about?”. This initiative allows the student body to nominate and ultimately decide on a subject area they would like to identify as an opportunity to enhance the collection.
Each fall, a call for nominations for subject area is sent out to the student body. Once nominations have been received, a ballot is then sent out to choose the winning area. Once the subject area is chosen, an announcement will be made and the appropriate Liaison Librarian will compile a list of materials to purchase using $1,000 from the library’s materials budget.
This initiative is on hold for the 2024-2025 academic year.
These materials will be purchased with the expectation that they are ready for use by the start of the following spring semester.
For questions about the “What would you like to read about?” Initiative please contact the Acquisitions Department at kentacquisitions@semo.edu or by phone at 573-651-2747.
