HMGMC Job Openings

The Heather MacDonald Greene Multimeida center is hiring!

The HMGMC is a high end multimedia production lab located in Kent Library. The HMGMC features a range of hardware and software that appeal to the novice and professional, preparing students to confidently master the operation and application of new multimedia technology. The HMGMC assists with video and photo editing, graphic design, audio production, 3D modeling, 3D printing, and basic skills with Windows, Mac and iPadOS devices. We help all users at any point in their project, offering the tools, resources and assistance needed to complete their project. The student employee role is to sypport HMGMC users, while expanding their own skillsets. You are the front line in providing support and training to patrons of the HMGMC.

HMGMC student employee job duties

  • Greet and offer assistance to users.

  • Assist users in conceptualizing and creating projects, recognizing their skill level and providing appropriate tools for their specific needs.

  • Provide assistance with all technologies, equipment and services offered.

  • Continuously improve personal technical skills with the direction and assistance of HMGMC staff.

  • Utilize HMGMC resources to create showcases and example projects.

  • Provide users assistance with:

  • 3D modeling
  • 3D printing
  • Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe InDesign
  • Adobe Audition
  • Camtasia
  • One Button Studio/green screen technology
  • Audio recording hardware
  • Graphic drawing tablets
  • Video conferencing
  • Windows computers
  • Apple/Mac computers

  • Complete graphic design projects as assigned.

  • Post to HMGMC social media accounts/pages.

  • Adhere to cleaning and maintenance schedules and standards.

  • Take COVID-specific precautions as directed.

  • Open and close the center at the proper times.

  • Provide tours and information about the HMGMC upon request.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Positions are 10-20 hours per week. Start date may be either during the upcoming summer, or at the beginning of the Fall 2021 semester, depending on student availability and scheduling circumstances. Working on evenings and Sunday will be required.
