Kent Library’s Fall 2009 Athenæum Series: The Environment: Does God Really Care? Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009 Noon Kent Library’s Sadie’s Place

Does God really care about the environment?  Genesis 2:15 says “And the Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and guard and keep it.”  Has that command from God changed?  From pollution, global warming, animal extinction, hybrid cars, and nuclear power does any of it really matter to God? Are people who worship God supposed to care about recycling, littering, or going green?  Does the Bible give guidance on our responsibilities towards the earth?  Brett Cheek, M.Div., College Pastor for Ignite and Dr. Kerry Wynn,  Dept. of Political Science, Philosophy, and Religion, from the Association of Campus Ministries will delve into this timely area of concern in today’s society.  Come and join us for a time of teaching and dialogue about the environment as expressed in scripture. This presentation is open to all and refreshments will be served.
