Types of Library Subscription Databases
Which database to use depends upon your topic.

2. Subject Databases

  • Is your topic in a particular subject area?

If so, use a subject database. Subject databases specialize in a particular subject, and the articles or resources indexed are generally from scholarly sources. Most articles are available full text. Examples of subject databases and the kinds of resources they identify are:

Business Source Premier
Articles for business-related subjects such as management, finance, and advertising
Historical Abstracts
World history articles
PsycINFO
Articles for psychology, psychiatry and related fields
ARTStor
Art-related images including background information about the images
