Digital Painting Workshop

The Heather MacDonald Greene Multimedia Center would like to invite you to this digital painting workshop at Kent Library. Southeast art student, Kim Wells, will be sharing her expertise in the development of her beautiful painted portraits. Those participating will be able to create their very own masterpiece and learn artful skills and techniques for painting realism. Join us for this three part series starting November 16, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the HMGMC.

What do I need to bring?

Students are welcome to bring their own laptops and drawing tablets. However, a limited number of Macbooks and drawing tablets will be provided. Don’t forget to bring a flashdrive to save your progress!

Part 1

Date: Wednesday, November 16, 2016
Workshop Time: 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Workshop Overview: General introduction of the workshop and the start of using a reference image and learning how to use the eye drop tool. Will also be going over the first part of painting in Photoshop: creating base tones.

Part 2

Date: Wednesday, November 30, 2016
Workshop Time: 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Workshop Overview: Continuation of previous workshop. Begin getting more in depth with shadows and highlights and pronouncing the face more. Move into possibly getting detail work done of features.

Part 3

Date: Wednesday, December 7, 2016
Workshop Time: 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Workshop Overview: The final workshop where we finish up little details and possibly have the attendees add whatever they would personally like to add to the image.
