Author biographical and critical information resources:
  • Literature Resource Center -- biographies and criticism of a wide variety of authors and poets.
  • Search the author as a subject in the Kent Library book catalog.  biographies and critical analysis.
    • enter the last name first, example:  Hemingway, Ernest.
    • look for the subject heading suffix 'Criticism and Interpretation' for material about the author's work.
  • Biography and Genealogical Master Index (R  920.073 B5223) indexes a wide range of biographical reference books -- use for authors active before 1985.
  • Directory of American Scholars (R 923.7 D628) brief biographies for authors in academic fields that may be difficult to find in other sources.
