MOBIUS Information & Policies
MOBIUS services are extended to Southeast
Missouri State University employees, faculty emeritus, and current
students. Local patrons must use
Interlibrary Loan
to request MOBIUS Materials.
The Kent Library MOBIUS office is located in room 206
next to the Circulation desk.

What is MOBIUS?
MOBIUS, also known as Missouri Bibliographic Information User System,
is a consortium of Missouri academic and public libraries of which Southeast Missouri State University
is a member. MOBIUS libraries are organized geographically by cluster. Kent Library is part of the Galahad cluster, which also includes Mineral Area College (MAC) and Three Rivers Community College
(TRCC).

How Do I Submit a MOBIUS Request?

Check the Kent Library
Catalog to see if the item is available in Kent Library.

If it is not
available in Kent Library, click the
Search MOBIUS button on the Kent Library Catalog search
results page. Also, you can also go directly to the
MOBIUS catalog to begin a new search.

Once you
have found a book in the MOBIUS catalog that you would like to
request, click on the REQUEST THIS ITEM link.

When prompted with the
question:With which
cluster are you affiliated?,
select Galahad.

Follow the prompts on the
login page and enter your Name and Southeast ID.

Select a pickup cluster
from the drop-down menu. To have materials sent to Cape
Girardeau, Kennett, Malden, Sikeston or Perryville, select Galahad.
For any other location, see the
cluster
chart to determine which cluster to select.

Select a pickup location
from the drop-down menu.

Click on the SUBMIT button
to place your request.

How Much Does It Cost?
There is no charge to request materials through
MOBIUS. However,
Kent Library Circulation Policies regarding late fees and
replacement charges applies to all MOBIUS materials.
Billing dates for MOBIUS materials will
occur 45 days after the due date.
On the billing date, all users with
overdue materials are charged a $100 replacement fee and a nonrefundable
$20 billing fee for each item.
If item is returned in good condition or
an appropriate replacement copy is submitted within 90 days of billing
date, the $100 replacement charge will be refunded. However, the $20
billing fee is not refundable.

How Long Will It Take?
On average, it takes 3-5
business days to fill a MOBIUS request.
Delivery time is
dependent upon pickup location. If you select SEMO at Kennett,
Malden, Sikeston or Perryville,
an additional two business days will be added to the delivery time.

How Will I Be Notified When My Materials Arrive?
An email notification
will be sent to your Southeast email. In addition, an email
notification will be sent if your request has been cancelled for any
reason. You may track the status of your request by going to the
View
Your Record page of the Kent Library Catalog.

Where Do I Pick Up Requested Materials?
All items chosen to be
picked up at SEMO - Cape Gir. Kent Library may be picked up at the Circulation Desk on the 2nd
(main) floor of Kent Library.
If you select SEMO at Kennett, Malden,
Sikeston or Perryville-AHEC, items may be picked up at the Main office
of the selected location. All items are checked out and shipped
from Kent Library. You are responsible for the item from the
time is leaves Kent Library until it returns to Kent Library.
It
is your responsibility to contact the Kent Library MOBIUS
Office
if your item has not arrived within two business days after receiving
your email notification.

When Are My Materials Due?
The loan period for MOBIUS materials is 21
days. The due date will be written on a green band attached to
the item. DO NOT REMOVE THE GREEN BAND. Borrowing privileges can
be revoked if you persistently remove the band.
To view the due dates for all books that you currently
have checked out, go to the
View
Your Record page of the
Kent Library Catalog.
If returning an item to any location
other than Kent Library in Cape Girardeau, allow for travel time to ensure that it arrives
at Kent Library by the due date.
If an item has been returned to another location, but not received by Kent
Library by the due date, the potential exists for the patron to be
billed.

Can I Renew My Materials?
You are allowed two renewals for each
MOBIUS item. To renew your materials,
go to the View
Your Record page of the Kent Library Catalog. Place a check mark in the box beside any item that
you want to renew. Then click the Renew Selected Items button. Alternatively, you can click the
Renew All button to renew all of your checked out items at once.

Where Do I Return Borrowed Materials?
All items may be returned to the Circulation
or Periodical Service Desks on the 2nd
(main) floor of Kent Library in Cape Girardeau. You may also use the book drops located
at the front and rear entries and the book drop located on Myers Drive
between Kent Library and the University Center.
You may also return them to Kennett,
Malden, Sikeston, or Perryville or any other
MOBIUS
library. If returning an item to any location other than Kent
Library in Cape Girardeau, allow for travel time to ensure that it arrives
at Kent Library by the due date.
