Info Lit Photos

Photo Contest

Where do you Info Lit?

Information Literacy is all about finding, evaluating, and using information effectively and ethically. This is something that Southeast students do all around campus and we want to see you in action!

Send us your photos and we will post them to the Kent Library Flickr site. With each photo submission you'll be entered into a weekly drawing for a pair of headphones and a grand prize drawing for an iPod shuffle.

Photo submission guidelines:

  • Open to current Southeast students.
  • Must have an information literacy theme.
  • Photo location must be at one of Southeast's campuses (Main, River, Sikeston, etc.).
  • Must include you and/or your friends or an image of a gnome or other similar object.
  • All photos will be publically accessible on the KL website.
  • Creativity and silliness are encouraged.
  • Use good judgment. Photos with inappropriate content will not be accepted.

How to enter:

  • Save photo as a .jpg.
  • Email or deliver in person an electronic version of your photo to the Heather MacDonald Green Multimedia Center in Kent Library: (hmgmc (at) semo.edu).
  • Each entry must include your name and your Southeast email address for prize notification.
  • Enter as often as you like.
  • Submit your photos between November 11th and December 4th.

Get help with being creative!

  • The Heather MacDonald Green Multimedia Center in Kent Library has computers with creative software from Adobe and Microsoft. Visit them and have some fun enhancing your photos. You might even use Photoshop to insert an image of a gnome digging for information. Let your imagination run wild!
  • Stop by the Kent Library Reference Desk to borrow a gnome cutout or use the image below.
