Ellen M. Ryan, Digital Project Manager, first worked in Special Collections and Archives as a graduate assistant from 2005-2006, while pursuing a MA History with a concentration in historic preservation at Southeast. She has a MLIS in Archival Studies from San Jose State University, and a BFA in Studio Art with minors in American History and Art History from the University of New Mexico.
Prior to returning to Southeast in 2011, Ellen spent four years working as the Community Outreach Director for a non-profit historic preservation organization in New York State’s Adirondack Park. While there she wrote National Register nominations, provided technical assistance to property owners of historic structures, and worked with the Town historians, historical societies, and museums throughout the Park’s 105 towns and villages. She also worked on redesigning the organization’s website and newsletter, developed and managed the Clayton Family Resource Center, and worked as a private consultant on various museum and archives projects.
