Collections and Archives houses a variety of source materials documenting
local and regional history, including manuscript collections, maps,
photographs, historical site surveys, publications, clippings, postcards,
oral histories, newspapers, business and organizational records,
directories, and architectural records. |

University Archives |
Special
Collections and Archives houses the Southeast Missouri State University
archives, which includes publications, scrapbooks, some administrative
records, photographs, minutes, ephemera, and other materials relating to
the history of the University from the founding of the Third District
Normal School in 1873 to the present. |

The Rare Book
Room of Kent Library houses two collections of rare books and manuscripts
-- the Brodsky Faulkner Collection and the Charles L. Harrison Collection.
Use of the
collections housed in the Rare
Book Room is by advance appointment only and is reserved for scholarly
activity related to the collections. For an appointment,
please contact the Special Collections Librarian at 573.986.7446. |

Photograph Collections |
Special
Collections and Archives houses approximately 85,000 photographic images.
Of these, the Lueders Studio Collection and the Southeast Missouri State
University photographs form the two largest components. Subjects
represented in these two collections include University buildings, people
and events, and community and regional residents and commercial
establishments. Small photograph collections and photographs that are part
of manuscript collections comprise approximately 15,000 additional images.
