Bera Beauchamp Foard of Doniphan, MO, was a graduate of the Southeast
Missouri State Teachers College class of 1935. She was a reporter for the Capaha Arrow, a member of the
Clio Literary Society, a club which promoted literary and music
appreciation, and vice-president of the Kappa Delta Pi
Fraternity of education.
In 1925 Foard wrote the Alma Mater of Doniphan High School.
When Southeast Missouri State Teachers College held a contest
for an Alma Mater, in celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the
college, Foard enter. The
judges selected Foard’s entry and it became the Southeast
Missouri State Teachers College's
Alma Mater in 1948.
