Business Women Discuss Political Platform at Meeting

Body:  A critical discussion of the platforms of both major political parties was held at a meeting of the Business and Professional Women's Club Tuesday night at the Colonial Tavern at which Judge Jack O. Knehas led the discussion of the Republican platform and Judge I. R. Kelso reviewed the Democratic platform.

In charge of the meeting were Mrs. C. G. Deneke, Dr. Anita E. Bohnsack, Marie Friant, and Margaret Powell.

After the speaking there was a business session at which plans for the public relations banquet, to be held during National Business Women's Week, October 6 to 12, were discussed.  The committee in charge of the public relations banquet is composed of Bertha M. Smith, Dr. Anita E. Bohnsack, Marie Friant, Mrs. Colby Cherry, and Mrs. Eva Doyle.  The theme for Nation Business Women's Week is "Business Women in Democracy--Vote."

Miss Hilda Fisher, principal of Jefferson School is chairman of the district conference committee.

Guests at the dinner were Miss Regina Friant of Ames, Iowa; Miss Mary Meyers of Flint, Mich.; and Miss Gladys Johnson of Cape Girardeau.
